ANNA BERNICE WALKER
Anna Bernice Walker was born September 4, 1908, at Tingley, Iowa to W. W. and Estella E. Needham Baldon. In the evening hours of November 21, 1997, at the Kavanaugh House on Grand Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa she peacefully joined her Lord as a result of poor and failing health over a period of years, her final illness lasting but a few days.Anna was raised at Ellston and after graduating from high school, she graduated from college with normal training. Anna became the bride of Lyman Gardner Walker on March 21, 1931 at Mount Ayr, Iowa. Five children were born to this union. She lived 50 years on a farm in Monroe township and was a school teacher, farmer's wife and mother. After the death of Lyman, she moved to Des Moines in 1982. She has lived in Osceola, Iowa the past two years.
Anna was a member of the United Methodist Church, a fifty plus year member of the Farm Bureau and was a leader of the ladies' part of the Farm Bureau. She was a past president of the Kellerton Band Boosters.
Left to cherish her memory areher four children Robert and wife Loy of Marengo, Ia., Louise Alexander and husband, Charles F. of South Padre Island, Tx., Lyman J. and wife Ann of Searcy, AR., and Barry of Osceola, Ia.; eight grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren; half brother Fred and wife Jo Baldon of Adel, Ia.; three half sisters, Barbara Neuzum of Urbandale, Ia., Betty Lallinger of St. Louis, Mo., and Joan Brooker and husband Kenneth of Van Meter, Ia.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Kellerton, Ia., on November 25, 1997. Officiating was Rev. Michael Druhl. Musicians were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jackson.
Casket bearers were Curt Greene, Steve Norris, Marlin Binning, Clint Anderson, Kim Greenland and Richard Binning. Interment was in Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa.
