OBITUARY - L. S. DUNLANY.
Lindsey Seaton DUNLANY, son of Dennis and Elizabeth DULANY, was born near Carmichaels, Greene county, Pennsylvania, on June 2, 1852, and died on February 22, 1932, at the age of 79 years, eight months and 20 days.
He was the third child in a family of seven. Of these, one brother, John H., of Uniontown, Pa., and two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie JOHNSTON of Whitely, Pa., and Mrs. Sadie REYNOLDS of Okmulgee, Okla., survives. Three sisters preceded him in death, Mrs. Mary STEPHENSON, Mrs. Siddie GARARD and Mrs. Emma CRAIG. His parents passed away many years ago.
In early life he professed his faith in Christ, connecting himself with the Baptist church and his faith in Christ remained firm to the end.
During his early manhood he worked with his father in the Home Orchard Nursery.
In March, 1876, Mr. DULANY came to Ringgold county, where his home has been ever since. He first engaged in farming near Mount Ayr, and in March, 1909, moved to town, and was employed in produce business until about two years ago, when his health began to fail, since which time he was compelled to lay the burden on the shoulders of his son Truman.
On March 16, 1879, Mr. DULANY was united in marriage to Priscilla CARTER. She died November 30, 1889. To this union two children were born, John D., of Tulare, S.D., and Grace, of Ontario, Calif.
On January 21, 1891, he was married to Susie M. PRITCHARD, of Mount Ayr. To this union were born three children, of whom one daughter died in infancy. The wife and two sons, Harry A. and Truman H., remain to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. Ten grandchildren, too, and many relatives will feel the loss. A great many friends will miss him whom they familiarly called "Linds."
Funeral services were held at Rhoades' Funeral Home yesterday afternoon, at two o'clock, conducted by Dr. Jesse JOHNSON and interment was made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
