Hi Elaine, Yes, we do have EDWARD JOHN (Moran) listed as a child taken to Wapsie, Iowa & raised by a MORAN family there. We do not havethe date of his arrival in Wapsie & Wapsie is located in 3 counties,Bremer, Mitchell & Scott.
WILLIE MORAN was taken to Clarinda,Page County, Iowa on 18 March 1881 when he was 12 years old & raised by George A. Miller.
If EDWARD was a resident of the New York Foundling Home you may write to them to obtain biological information but be sure to tell them how you are related to him as they will release this information to family members ONLY. Send along a SASE for a reply.
The address for them is: New York Foundling Hospital Records Information Office 590 Avenue of The Americas New York, New York. It takes a while to receive a reply from them as they are very busy.
Have you seen our Iowa Gen Web Site ? It is full of clues about how to obtain records of the children. http://iagenweb.org/iaorphans .
Good luck with your search & please let me know about your progress.
Sincerely,
Madonna M. Harms, Historian
