I am looking for information on my husbands' grandfather, William Witte. He was born in New York on November 25, 1890. It has been said that he rode the Orphan Train to the Midwest. I am not sure if his last name was Witte while he was on the Orphan Train or if he was adopted by someone with the last name Witte after he arrived in the Midwest. He married Jennie Joenks, Nov. 24, 1916 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. His children that I am aware of were: Arlo, Garth, Avis, Betty, Verda and Lois. His death date was Dec. 10, 1949, Fort Dodge, Iowa. This is all the information I have. Any information you may have will be greatly appreciated.
