Services in memory of Arlene Glade were held on Saturday, June 10, 1989, at the American Lutheran Church in Melvin, Iowa. Pastor Dale Jenson officiated.
Arlene Glade, the daughter of August and Anna (Dorman) Glade, was born on November 17, 1905 at Ruthton, Minnesota. She graduated from Ocheyedan Hight School and furthered her education at UNI - University of Southern California, University of Colorado, San Jose State, and Drake University.
Arlene taught school for forty seven years in Iowa, including the communities of Holstein, Le Mars, and Mason City. She had been a resident of the George Good Samaritan Home at George, Iowa, for the past few months, and she passed away there on June 7, 1989.
She is survived by three sisters: Mrs Henry (Pearl) Strubbe of Melvin, Mrs. Hugo (Marion) Boedeker of Latimer, Iowa, and Mrs. E.F. (Lois) Elmore of San Jose, California; three brothers: Leland of Cedar Rapids, Raymond of Rapid City, South Dakota, and E. Dale of Darien, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church at Melvin, and also the I.S.E.A., M.C.E.A., G.T.A., N.R.T.A., A.A.U.W., and A.L.C.W.
