Funeral services for Donald Bockwoldt, 56, were held at Gloria Del Lutheran church, Durant March 23 with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery. Pallbearers were Weldon Martz, Dennis Wulf, Leslie Bland, Rolland Bockwoldt, Dale Malmen and Earl (Bud) Myers. Donna Cook was organist and Paulette Waech, soloist.
Mr. Bockwoldt died of a crushed chest in an accident at his farm home March 20 when a truck box fell on him. His body was discovered by his son, Lovren, about 11:30 a.m.
The son of Edward and Ella Kahl Bockwoldt, he was born at Davenport June 25, 1930. He was married to Janice Langmann in Davenport Feb. 9, 1962.
Mr. Bockwoldt was a farmer and a substitute bus driver for the Durant Community school district. He had also been a seed dealer for Funk's for 6 years.
He was a 30 year former member of the Mississippi Valley Milk Producers, served 3 years as clerk of Fulton township, Muscatine county, was a director of the Muscatine county ASCS and a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Karen) Goodkin, Wilton; 2 sons, Loren, Durant and Neal, St. Louis, Mo.; a grandson; his mother, Della Bockwoldt, Durant and a sister and brother. His father and a son preceded him in death.
