Funeral services for Rufus T. Brewer, 86, Muscatine, were held March 2 at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home in Muscatine, with the Rev. Leland Eyres officiating. Pallbearers were Paul Brewer Jr., Jim Nehaus, Bob Laser, Ken Connor, Wilbur Hetzler, Kenneth TeStrake, Lyle Brewer and Scott Brewer.

Mr. Brewer died Feb. 27 at the Muscatine General hospital.

The son of Free and Sarah Essex Brewer, he was born Oct. 29, 1900 in Illinois. He married Dorothy Mae Jackson May 4, 1935 in Rock Island, Ill. He was a life resident of Muscatine and had farmed his entire life.

Mr. Brewer is survived by a son, Paul Brewer, Tipton; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald Brewer, Muscatine and William Brewer, Salem, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife and 5 brothers.
