Funeral services for Donald Askam, 68, West Liberty, were held Jan. 26, 1987 at Snider Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe M. Lee officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mr. Askam died Jan. 23 at Muscatine General hospital.

The son of Reuben and Zella Stephens Askam, he was born July 31, 1918 in Muscatine county. He married Arline Block Oct. 11, 1941 in Muscatine county. He was a Muscatine county farmer and was recently employed by the Muscatine County Fair Association.

Mr. Askam is survived by his wife, Arline, a son, Dennis Askam, Moline, Ill.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Doreen) DeVore, Harrisonburg, Va. and Mrs. Jerry (Annette) Maas, West Liberty; 2 sisters, Mrs. Doris McCann and Mrs. Rita Herrold, both of West Liberty; 4 brothers, Edwin Askam, West Liberty; Robert Askam, Muscatine; Leon Askam, Tucson, Ariz. and Virgil Askam, Rock Island, Ill. and 5 grandchildren.
