S. G. (Gustav) THIELE stabbed his estranged wife Ida THIELE to death on the streets of Villisca in June of 1901 in full view of several members of the public. I have quite a bit of information from the newspaper reports of the murder in June and the trial in December. However, there are things mentioned in testimony that I would like to track down further. Ida THIELE had at one point sued a man named G. W. FARRENS for a sum of $5000. She lost the suit, and FARRENS testified for the defense at her husband's trial. What was the suit about? Ida was also convicted with one VANSANT of a lewd act in either Villisca or Clarinda in the late 1890s. Any information on this would be very welcome.
