I'm not related to this family but thought I might be able to check some of my Iowa books and records and find something for you. I wonder if Patrick and Miley (shown as Mollie in the census) put their children in the Christian Home orphanage in Council Bluffs about 1903? Just curious, because in the 1930 census for Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Council Bluffs, there is this Robert H. LeMaster who fits the age and birth date of the oldest son of Patrick and Miley:
1930, Pott. Co., Council Bluffs, Iowa:
LeMaster, Robert H., age 43, married at age 23 yrs, b. SD, father b. U.S. mother b. U.S., molder in foundry.
LeMaster, Cora B., wife, 36, married at age 17 years, b. KY, father b. KY, mother b. IL
LeMaster, Floyd L., 16, b. IA
LeMaster, Richard R., 14, b. IA
LeMaster, Clifford H., 12, b. IA
LeMaster, Gerald J., 10, b. IA
LeMaster, Grace R., 9, b. IA
LeMaster, Betty J., 8, b. IA
LeMaster, Walter L., 4 yrs 11 mo., b. IA
LeMaster, Leonard C., 3 yrs 1 mo., b. OK
LeMaster, Shirley W., 1 yr 4 mo., b. IA
Stivers, Clay, brother-in-law, 30, single, b. IA, father b. KY, mother b. ILThis Robert LeMaster named a son Walter, perhaps after his brother Walter? Not sure, but it might be a clue.
In the 1920 census, Council Bluffs, this family is shown as:
LeMaster, Robert, 30, b. SD, father b. MO, mother b. MO, foundry worker
LeMaster, Cora, 33, b. KY, father b. KY, mother b. IL
LeMaster, Floyd, 5, b. IA
LeMaster, Richard, 4 yr 11 mo., b. IA
LeMaster, Clifford, 2 yr 6 mo., b. IA
LeMaster, John J., 9 mo., b. IA
LeMaster, Henry, 66, widower, b. MO, father b. KY, mother b. KY, laborer (Could this be Patrick Henry Lamaster?)I hope this helps to give you some clues.
