I have 2 questions for Mills county, one of my Maternal Great Grandmothers was admitted to the Glenwood State Hospital and died there in 1915, also 2 of her children were admitted there as well.
I would like the information on how to obtain those records if you have that information of where I could write to.
The 2nd Question is, this Great Grandmother's other child was admitted to the Iowa Soldiers Orphan's home in Davenport, Iowa and was later adopted from there. The Orphans home later became known as the Annie Whitmyer Home. I need to know where I could write to get that information. This Great Granmother was married to a Yaw and his name was Franklin M. Yaw. He married 2 different women in Mills County in the early to mid 1880's. I would like to know how to obtain those Marriage records and find out if there were any divorces or children from those marriages? This Grandfather married 8 times, over 3 states from 1860 to 1913! Help with how to obtain this information would be most helpful. I live in Des Moines, Iowa and since my children will be getting out of school for the summer I can do the traveling and leg work here in Iowa. Thank You. Sincerly Wendy Tamayo-Blanco.
