Mary F. Turpin, 82, of Rocky Mount died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at her home
She was born May 8, 1924, in St. Charles, Iowa, to the late Nevin and Merceline (Spoor) Archer. On July 8, 1941, in Rocky Mount she was married to George W. Turpin, who preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, reading westerns and crocheting
Survivors include: seven children, George E. Turpin, Rocky Mount, Ruby M. Hale, Stover, Martha Thomas, Columbia, Gene Turpin, Rocky Mount, Nancy Israel, Coal Creek. Color., David Turpin, Versailles and Jay Turpin, Rocky Mount; one sister, Weltha Prewitt, Rocky Mount; two brothers, Dan Archer , Liberty and Hollis Archer, Independence; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel W. and Jerry D. Turpin.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at New Life Assembly of God Church in Barnett with Pastor Ron Hess officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were under the director of Rekus Funeral Home of Eldon.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
