Hi Gary,

It seems that John died in East Moline, Rock Island Co., IL. He had been living in Davenport, Scott Co., IA according to a city directory of 1954.

A notice of his death is in the Davenport newspaper, June 21, 1962.

You could contact Davenport Public Library to get a copy of the notice. Their web site is listed below.
