The Louisa County Recorder's office holds land records. They are indexed by first letter of surname. The staff will not do any searches for genealogical purposes.

Walk-ins may look at the records and obtain copies of pages.

As to why the family left Louisa County, expect it was an attempt to find a better way of life.
