Hi,

See the Louisa Co. home page for Marriages by Alpha Sort. I have it done through 1883. (Will have 1884 to 1899 up shortly) But no Elizabeth Tharp was listed. I also checked Muscatine Co. and there was nothing there either.

What source do you have for the information that Elizabeth was in Louisa Co. in 1851?

Maybe Elizabeth remarried in nearby Washington Co.? I check the Muscatine site and nothing was found for her there. A marriage record for her was not found in Muscatine.

I did find Samuel Stitt and wife H Stitt in the 1856 Iowa State Census living in Louisa Co. By checking the Muscatine Co. IAGenWeb site, I found their son, John Stitt, in the 1915 Iowa State Census for Muscatine Co. and also found John Samuel Stitt in the 1925 Iowa State Census that names his parents as Samuel Stitt and Harriet Tharp.

There is also an old query on the Muscatine Co. IAGenWeb site also asking for information on this family. Maybe you will find some clues there?
