From History of Louisa County, Iowa, 1912, S.J. Clarke Publishing, Chicago, Biography of J.C. Hunt, pages 516-519, Volume 2. (This seems to be misnumbered, as the volume jumps from 516 to page 519. No pages seem to be missing from the volume.
J.C. Hunt born in Morning Sun Township, 3 April 1860. Father S.G.Hunt, native of Wayne Co. Indiana, mother was Josephine Curran, b. Maryland. 9 children: now living M.G., of Aurora, IL; Caroline wife of D.D. Hamilton; J.C.; W.P., and Sophronia, wife of S.C. Bell of Missouri.
J.C. married 23 Dec 1887 to Miss Kate Hall, born near Prairie City, Fulton Co. IL, daughter of John D. and Margaret (Virden) Hall. Father native of Somerset County, NJ, d. in KS 22 Dec 1901. Mother still living (at publication date). Mother born in IL and is now living on the old homestead in that state.
Perhaps you can determine where in IL the mother was living. If she was living on the farm on which she was born, perhaps you can locate a land record that would list her father's name.
I have no connection to this family.
