The History of Louisa County, Iowa, 1912, Vol. 2, p. 84, has a biography of a Samuel F. Wilson, b. 2 Sept 1868, on the family homestead in Louisa County, Iowa. The homestead was procured from the government in 1839 by his grandfather, John Wilson. Samuel's parents were William M. and Miriam (Conway) Wilson, natives of IL and England, respectively. William came to Iowa as an infant. William and Miriam have 12 children, 9 living: In order of birth: Winona, (Mrs. Z.J. Wilson, Des Moines County, IA; William G., Louisa County, IA; Samuel F. (Subject of Bio); Leah R., wife of T.D. Wilson of Washington State; Nellie, deceased; John of Des Moines County; Sara E. wife of B.C.Owens of Henry County, IA; Clarissa, deceased; Isaac, d. in infancy; Renwick G., Washington state; James H., Louisa County; and Mary E. at home.
