Funeral services over the remains of Fay R. Letts and son Lloyd, who came to their death last Wednesday evening in a railroad accident, were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the home of Lem Dickerson, north of Grandview. Interment in Grandview cemetery. The father and son came to their death near Camden, Mo. They were riding in a freight car with their household goods, which they were shipping to their new home, Dalhart, Texas. The train was an unusually heavy one and when it came to the steep grade near Camden, it was necessary to cut the train in two sections. While the first section was being pulled up the grade, the second half, in which the car of household good was located, was left standing on the open track.

A second freight train, traveling at a good rate of speed came upon the standing section of train and crashed into it. The household car was next to the caboose and it was shattered, killing Mr. Letts instantly and injuring the boy so badly that he died on the way to a hospital. The wife and mother and several children are left to suffer and mourn their death. Both Mr. Letts and his son were well known here and many friends extend heartfelt sympathy to the grief stricken family.
