Rodney Frank Lindberg was born in Grandview township, Oct. 28, 1901, and died Nov. 23, 1917, aged 16 years and 26 days. The cause of his death was an abscess and an operation was performed about six o'clock Friday evening for its removal. From this he rallied but died suddenly about 8:15 the same evening. It is supposed that heart failure was the cause. Rodney was a good christian boy and he possessed the rare gift of making friends with everyone. His father has lost a valuable assistant, a good son and his death has left a terrible gap in the home circle which can never be filled. He was a member of the class of 21 of the Wapello high school and his class manifested their grief and sympathy by attending the funeral services in a body. The grief stricken family have the sympathy of all their friends in their sad affliction. The funeral was held from the Christian church in Wapello on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Bacon. The remains were laid to rest in the Wapello cemetery.
