Page 1Sheldon Parsons, a well known resident of Letts, passed away at the home of his sister, Miss Ruth Parsons in that city, after a lingering illness during the last eight weeks of which he has been bedfast. Tumor of the stomach and complications are given as the cause of his death. The blow to the family is intensified following as it does the death of his sister, Mrs. Martha E. Cline last Friday. A brother, David Parson, who at the present time is seriously ill, and his sister, Miss Ruth Parsons are the only members of his immediate family surviving. Mr. Parsons was born July 12, 1860, in Seventy-six township of Muscatine county. He was a farmer by occupation and for the greater part of his life made his home in the vicinity of Letts. For the past year or more he has resided with his sister. He was unmarried. His death occurred at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the United Brethren church and burial was made at the cemetery of the Old brick church at Cranston.
