Page 3Morning sun News- Herald: Walter H. Jarvis, whose illness with pneumonia was mentioned last week, died at his home in this city, Friday evening. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Dickson having charge of the services. The interment was at Elmwood cemetery.
Mr. Jarvis was born in Sewellssville, Ohio, Dec. 12, 1842. He served in the Civil war, enlisting as a private in Co. K., 69th Ohio Vol. Inf. He was married to Alice M. Lescalleet at Mt. Sterling, Ohio, Nov. 4, 1880. To this union were born three children. Mrs. Jarvis and daughter died some years ago. The second daughter, Luella M. Jarvis, of this city and a son, Wm. H. Jarvis of Wills point, Texas survive. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Harriett Copeland, of this place. Mr. Jarvis was well known in this community, having been a resident of Morning Sun for several years.
