Page 1Julius Watson Willard was born in Avon, Ohio, Dec. 7, 1837, died in Toolesboro, Iowa, April 19, 1907, aged 70 years, 4 months and 12 days. He removed with his parents to Chemung, Ill, in 1840. He was united in marriage to Miss Piney Kimble at Sharon, Wis, May 25, 1862. To this union were born eight children four of whom died in childhood. One son is married and lives in Everett, Wash., and the other three children reside with their mother in New Boston, Ill. The oldest son, Fred, has been at the bedside of his father the past three months and has tenderly cared for and comforted him in his last illness.
Mr. Willard removed with his family to Toolesboro, Iowa in 1872. The deceased united with the Methodist church while living in Illinois. When he moved to Toolesboro he united with the Baptist church and afterwards transferred again to the Methodist and remained a faithful member until his death. Mr. Willard was of a sunny, cheerful disposition, always hopeful of getting well but said if he could not he was ready to go. He made many friends among old and young and was a special favorite with little children. The funeral was held at the church in Toolesboro Sunday morning, April 21, and was conducted by Rev. A. L. Jordan. it was attended by a large concourse of sympathetic friends. Interment in the Mallory cemetery west of Toolesboro.
