She was married to James J. Ambler July 4, 1858, at Burlington, Vermont. Five children were born to them, three of whom died in childhood; one of them while her husband was in the civil war. After Mr. Ambler's return from the army, he with his family moved to Mount Pleasant, Iowa, where they resided until 1876, when they moved to Morning Sun. In 1881 they moved to Wapello. She was a quiet and unassuming disposition, a faithful wife, a tender and affectionate mother and a kind neighbor. She became a member of the Freewill Baptist church in Vermont. In Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, she placed her membership with the Christian church, of which church she was a member at the time of her death. All of her father's family have preceded her in death except two sisters: Mrs. R.M. Ambler, of Mt. Pleasant, Ia., and Mrs. Mary S. Hunt, of Minneapolis, Minn. She leaves also her two daughters, Mrs. Edna L. Silverhorn and Mrs. Jessie E. Farver, both of Wapello.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday, March 25, at 10 a. m., conducted by Rev. J. E. Newsom of the Methodist church, assisted by Rev. Charles Blanchard of the Christian church. The burial took place in the Wapello cemetery.
