One of the saddest deaths we have had occasion to mention for some time was the sudden death of Miss Florence McCalom, who died suddenly at Muscatine last week, after an illness of five days, at the age of 17 years. She was attending school there, where she contracted the disease. It was a terrible shock to her parents as well as the entire community. She was a young lady who to know was to love, of more than ordinary intellect, a great seeker after knowledge. Had she lived, was one who would have won her way into the hearts of all with whom she came into contact.
