To add to the confusion... I also have a Charles Henry Sherman (1860-1940) who was s/o Joseph W. Sherman (1824-1887) who was s/o Joseph L. Sherman (1796-1852) who was s/o James Sherman (1770- ).

James is the father to Joshua Sherman (1804-1851) but still don't see an Eleazer Sherman link in those various generations unless the link hasn't been established and/or is a completely different line landed in Jones County by coincidence?
