Joan - I thought the Annie Wittenmeyer home was for orphans. I have no idea if my uncle was adopted as a baby or as a toddler. I do know he was adopted by the 1925 census. I have told you everything that my cousin (my uncle's daughter) knows. To get more info from human services you have to petition the courts - as Iowa adoptions are closed. The thing is that we know who the adoptive parents are. We are wanting to know the biological parents - or something about them. Because you "approved," I went to the casino today! Sometimes you just have to quit thinking about this stuff and give your mind a break!
