Constance Anderson, 82, of North Liberty, passed away on March 16, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital.
A greeting time will be held from 1-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville. Private family interment will be at Rock Island Arsenal.
Connie was born on July 20, 1942 in Washington D.C. She grew up with her parents, Jesse and Loretta (Thompson) Stewart in Moline, Illinois. After graduating from Moline High School in 1960, Connie worked for many years as a secretary and assistant at Deere & Company. In 1966, she married Charles Anderson and to this union, three children were born.
Connie was a devoted wife and stay-at-home mother for many years before returning to work as a secretary at Bi-State Packaging and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rock Island and lastly as a secretary for the office of Dr. Robert Milas, Moline.
Above all, Connie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren (especially being a swim team mom!) She became a certified scuba diver and spent countless hours fishing and boating. She also enjoyed baking and looked forward to her “card club” gatherings with her girlfriends from Deere & Co.
Connie’s big heart, sense of humor and warm friendliness remained even when she was unwell. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and friendship that will forever be cherished.
Connie is survived by her children: Christina (David) Smigo, Carlin Anderson and Clinton (Ana) Anderson as well as seven grandchildren: Colleen, Sonja, and Keely Bloeser, Malena and Louis Smigo, and Sophia and Ethan Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Charles in 2022 and her brother, Sam Stewart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project.
