Harold Johnson, 90, of Iowa City, passed away on January 12, 2025 at The Bird House Hospice House.

Harold was born on February 21, 1934, in Cosgrove, Iowa to Alfred and Marie (White) Johnson. After graduating Cosgrove High School, he volunteered to join the United States Army, and proudly served two years. Upon discharge, Harold went to work for Skelly Oil Company, and later worked as a clerk at the post office before retiring after 42 years. Harold was known to be a hard worker. He also worked part-time delivering medications to people that were unable to drive or needed assistance obtaining their prescriptions.

On February 1, 1980, Harold married Maureen Delaney in a private ceremony in Iowa City.

In his spare time, Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing, ballroom dancing and traveling. He and Maureen loved traveling by car, often to stop and look at the surrounding scenery on the way to their destination. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and held season football tickets for over 20 years
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, their sons Alex and Joel, and grandchildren Ike and Nova, and two sons and a daughter from a previous marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Dolores and Ronald, and his son Michael.
