Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church
The "Spoken 4 Quartet" from Branson, Missouri will be in concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church. They will be performing old-time favorites as well as new songs.
A group member will also speak on how he had to deal with an immediate family member's suicide. A freewill offering will be taken.

Local Church to Offer Tractor Blessing

The Sharon Center United Methodist Church of rural Kalona is offering a blessing of the tractors and the community as we enter this harvest season.
The service of thanksgiving and blessing will be held October 2nd at 5 p.m. in the church parking lot. Local farmers are invited to bring their tractors, but more importantly themselves.
Pastor Erling Shultz says, "This is an opportunity to gather, remember we reap of God's abundance, and pray for safety and awareness during this season." Jenna Gibbs of the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health will also be present to offer safety education and give out a few lighting and marking kits for farm implements.
All are invited to the Sharon Center UMC located at 2804 520th Street SW Kalona and may call 319-683-2564 for more information. "We hope, pray, and invite God's blessing for a life giving experience upon all of the community during this hectic time," Pastor Shultz commented.
