West High Students earn McNutt award

The Iowa City Noon Rotary Club presented the McNutt 4-H Rotary Leadership Award to West high students Alison Monroe and Kelsey Beasley on April 2. Alison Monroe, daughter of Mike and Linda Monroe, has served as a Junior 4-H camp counselor and attended the CWF trip to Washington, D.C. She has been involved with Student Senate, 1440 Interact Service Club and is a member of the National Honor Society. Alison serves as a volunteer at the University of Iowa Hospital, an ELL class for Spanish speakers and has been involved with the University of Iowa Dance Marathon. She plans to attend the University of Iowa in the fall to study pre-medicine and major in biology.
Kelsey Beasley, daughter of John and Ronda Beasley, is the president of the 4-H County Youth Council. She has been involved with Mini Dance Marathon, Students Against Destructive Decisions and National Honor Society. Outside of school, she is a Janet Long dancer and is an assistant Sunday school teacher. Kelsey plans to attend Iowa State University and major in elementary education.
