Hi Verda!
Thank you for replying. I am not directly connected to this James McGuire but I research the early McGuire's of VA, IN and IA. There is a McGuire DNA study and the DNA from a descendant of this James does not match any of the others. So, I am trying to see if I can trace James backward and figure out his parents. He is very likely the son of a Francis McGuire who died in Clark Co, IN in 1805 but I can't document or prove it since he is not mentioned in the Will of Francis McGuire.
There is another McGuire family in Jefferson Co, Iowa - Charles - and we have a descendant of Charles who just joined the DNA study. It will be interesting to see his results. This Charles is well documented. I don't believe there is a relationship between the two McGuire families - they are both in Jefferson Co, Iowa but not living near each other.
Do you know who the Susannah McGuire is who died in 1866? She is buried in Batavia Cemetery and is suppose to be born c1797 but I can't identify her husband.
Just trying learn more about the early McGuire's.
I don't know Beverly Howell but I am in contact with another descendant of James McGuire.
