I had not been to the library in Fairfield since
covid hit. Had you on my mind. Her death is not
recorded in the Jefferson County courthouse per bound book deaths l880-1900 In the 4 x 6 card
system of obits, there was nothing on her
death. The gravestone for Ruth has just a death year under Battin whom she divorced in May 10 1938
Only one of 3 girls in birth book is Susie.Wondered if you are related to Vera May? She and
first husband Rolla DeGood were married in l908
divorced Feb 2 1915 Divorces were in book
only from 1839 - 1939 first 100 years.Hit dead end on Ernest Gobble. Two nice Gobble
books/notebooks on the family shelves....just
could not find him at all.If you wonder who is writing, go back to Jefferson County web site and in the left hand column of our WELCOME sheet, go down about 7
items until you find "past volunteers"I am now 90 and wonder about you yourself. Are
you close to Ottumwa? Are you a Gobble descendant?please write me at my personal email .....
