You need to contact Mary Lanigan. She and I
corresponded at least l5 years ago, and if I recall I was the one who told her about Bridget
being in the l860 mortality schedule, and also the
fact that I am sure they were living in a rail
road box car like all the other Irish workers
building the railroad. Railroad reached Fairfield, 9 miles west of Lockridge and by l861
had probably moved box cars on to the Ottumwa IA
area.Mary Lanigan came here herself to walk the cemeteries and hit a dead end. Newspapers were
of no help as proven by my publication gleaning were from Mar 24, l853 thru Dec 19, 1872 the
Fairfield Ledger hit a dead end, and there are
no early Lockridge papers.Do you know Mary Lanigan and if so has she shared
anything with you? Verda Baird age 84
