I'll look to see if there is an obituary for Lydia Hankins in our Fairfield Library microfilm records. If found, I'll provide it as requested.
I found the following, in the meantime: Lydia Hankins was born in Iowa on Feb. 10, 1844 and died on July 10, 1920. In/about 1866 she married James G. Hankins (b. April 6, 1843 d.June 15, 1916).
Both are buried in Burge cemetery, at New London, in Henry county, Iowa. They have headstone photos posted on the IowaGravestonesPhotoProject website. A daughter, Laura E. Hankins (b.July 13, 1869 d.July 6, 1885) is also buried in Burge cemetery.
As of 1910 the family was living in Agency TWP in Wapello county, with a son Charles (aged 28), his wife Madge, and their three year old daughter Pauline, living in the same James G. Hankins household.
Evidently they lived in that area as well as Fairfield during various points during their marriage.
Hopefully an obituary will be found in a Fairfield newspaper, but it might be worth searching for any Henry county newspaper obits since that part of the family is buried in Henry county.
