I am seeking information on a man named David Fansher who lived in Locust Grove Township. In August of 2003, a woman replied to a query of mine that I had placed on the GenForum web site. The query was in regards to my 4th great-grandparents, William Squire & Barbara (Dougherty) Gilmer, who also lived in Locust Grove Township. The woman stated that she was a descendant of David Fansher's and that his Will stated that he had an adopted daughter named Barbara Gilmer. She also stated that on a deed record for David Fansher the Justice of the Peace was William S. Gilmer. Given that they all lived in the same Township, that my William Squire was a circuit riding minister and that they had a son whose middle name was Fansher, I feel certain that David's adopted daughter is my Barbara. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make contact with the woman who left the message! I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could tell me more about this David Fansher. I would also love to know more about the Will & deed that she mentioned. (She didn't state any dates for the documents, so I can't send off for copies.) Any help will be greatly appreciated:-)
