Dear Verda,
I am sorry I have taken so long to write back to thank you for the information you sent me. As it just so happened, I had found most of the same info the week before your package arrived. HOWEVER, the "Jonathan Dyer Diary" was a unique and an unbelievably valuable gem! Nothing I had found compared to this.
Your note enclosed asked me about providing more about the "John" who is the patriarch of the family. However, due to the way these families intermarried, I wasn't sure if you meant John Dyer, or John Hurst. I know much more about John Hurst than I do John Dyer, but in the case of John Dyer, I am preparing electronic versions of the probate and chancery court documents that were sent to me from Joan Williams, whom I believe you also helped with Dyer info. These documents establish beyond a reasonable doubt that John Dyer was the father of Charles Dyer, the Revolutionary War soldier born in 1755 and who died in 1831 in Harrison County, Indiana.
Once I get that all scanned and typed in, I will post a message as to the web link from which the info can be downloaded. You will be free tomake copies for the library's ongoing use.
Best regards and Happy Holidays,
-douglas hurst quebbeman
