Among the books/folders on the library shelves is
Peter Cassel of New Sweden Iowa about l inch thick. I put it together 1992 after doing considerable research
for a historian George Hansen (was not related to
Peter). When he got home from his second trip to
Kisa for Peter Cassel Days there, he sent numerous snapshots of the celebration, also shared data on the Canal Boats on the Erie Canal
and from old family sheets shared by researcher
back in l977, there are numerous family sheets
in that folder.

the sheet on Peter Carlsson (changed it to Cassel
when he came to America)

Peter's sister Ingeborg Catherine Carlsdotter was married to John Munson, that family coming
also in 1845. Another sister Stina marr. Erik
Eriksson and they died in Tidersrum Sweden

Peter's father was Carl Borgesson b. l762 d. 1834
and died in Sweden 16 July 1834.....his father
was Borge Nilsson and Kristina Hassel
