My great grandmother was Anna Mae Canterbury. Her father, James Monroe Canterbury, was John Cambridge Canterbury's brother. They were two of nine children born to William Anderson Canterbury, b. 19 March 1823 Monroe Co. W.VA; d. 10 June 1897 in Jefferson Co.IA; m.24 October 1843 to Barbara Ellen Van Pelt b. 10 November 1822 Courtland, Morgan Co. AL; d. 31 August 1907 Jefferson Co. IA Siblings were: Sarah Francis;
Alfred Norfton; Joseph Perry; William Thomas; Unknown Child; Laura Jane, & Albert Lincoln.
