Since so many people have viewed this I want to respond. Effie Hardin Dransfield (stage name, Effie Warren) died on May 1, 1933 in Faifield, Iowa. She had a Catholic funeral and is buried in the Catholic Cemetery. Her obituary appeared in The Fairfield paper, the theatrical magazine, Billboard, and the Indianapolis paper. The Henderson Players cast and the cast from the Schaffner Players performing in Ottumwa, Iowa attended the funeral. It was the "depression", and the show had to be "on the road".
There is a Theatre Museum in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and troupers visiting there have visited Effie's grave. I and my family have been there often. We loved her and missed her.
I am happy to connect with her family, and will give them all the information I can.
