My Swedish great grandmother was born in New Sweden in 1861. I assume from your web page that New Sweden Iowa was in Jefferson County. I'm not able to locate it on any maps that I have. Can you tell me where it is/was?
I am trying to locate her and her family in the 1860 and 1870 census listings on line.. The problem is that there is no reference in the indices to New Sweden, just a series of other towships. Any ideas where I might find the census data for New Sweden?
