Searching for the story behind why Henry Knerr took gaurdianship of Charles and Hannah Stitzer on 15 Dec. 1853. Charles & Hannah Stitzer wer the 2 oldest children of John Andrew Stitzer & Eleanor Roeder. John died in 1853 and Eleanor lost 3rd child Simon on 24 Nov. 1853, 4th child Rosina 16 Oct. 1853 and 5th child Anna 01 Sept. 1853. I am speculating that after losing 3 children and a husband all in the same year she couldn't take care of the older two or was very ill herself. Would like varification of my speculation.

Also would like to know wht happened to Charles after he was released from gaurdianship in 1865. I think Hannah married twice, 1st to a Henry Pettker and had at least 3 children. It's been said that her two oldest children were living in St. Louis when their step-father died. I don't know who he was.

Eleanor (Roeder) Stitzer remarried 06 Mar 1855 in Jefferson Co. to John C. Langner.
