Dixie Ruth RUGGLES, 90, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at her home.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family.

Dixie was born September 19 1933 in Fairfield, the daughter of Verl and Hazel (MIKSCH) BLAIR. She married Cedric H. RUGGLES, November 13, 1951. He preceded her in death, April 29, 2009.

Dixie worked as an LPN at Jefferson County Hospital for 25 years. She also worked as a nurse for in home care. Dixie enjoyed quilting, camping, gardening, collecting antiques, and going out for lunch with her girlfriends.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Allan (Carol) RUGGLES of Burlington and Robert RUGGLES of Macau, China; grandchildren, Remington WESTOFF, Austin WESTOFF, and Johnny RUGGLES; great-grandchildren, Mia, Baylee, and Nathan RUGGLES, Theodore WESTOFF, and Augustus WESTOFF; sister, Joyce STANLEY of Fairfield; and nieces and nephews, Susan FARNSWORTH, Janice PEDERSEN, Kathy SIMMONS, Jeff STANLEY, Carolyn BRUNE, Chris STANLEY, Bruce BROWN, Bryan BROWN, Gail BROWN, and Diane DITMAN.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ellen WESTOFF; daughter-in-law, Sarah RUGGLES; grandson, Dustin RUGGLES; and sisters, Marilyn and Doris.
