Front Page, Column 4LAURA HOOPES RITES SUNDAY
Mrs. Harley HOOPES, 79, well known resident of Fairfield, died at the Jefferson county hospital today at 1:30 p.m. She had been a patient there for several weeks during a serious illness.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, at the Weston Behner funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. M. S. Ellick in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Laura HOOPES was born April 7, 1866, near Monmouth, Illinois. She had spent practically all of her life in the Fairfield community, coming here when a child. She was the daughter of the late J. B. and Abigail YOUMANS.
Mrs. HOOPES had been active in civic affairs for many years. She was a member of several patriotic orders and the Baptist church where she was pianist for about 50 years.

The body of Mrs. Laura HOOPES, prominent Fairfield resident who passed away Thursday afternoon, will lie in state at the Weston Behner funeral home Sunday afternoon until 2:00 p.m. The casket will be closed during the services which begin at that hour.
Rev. M. S. Ellick will have charge of the services, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
