July 25, 1947 - March 29, 2025

Patricia Kay Fitzsimmons, age 77 of Colfax, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. Burial will take place at McKeever Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday April 4, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the church. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Frank Day and Irene Eliza (Pierce) Warrick, Patricia was born on July 25, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. She enjoyed growing up on a farm with many adventures. She graduated from Iowa State University and received her masters degree in Education from Drake University. She taught at McKee Elementary for thirty-two years. She was adored by her students. After retirement she went on to spread the word of Jesus and teach anyone, she met about his love for us. She never knew a stranger. Family was very important to her, and she was the matriarch of her family. She'll be dearly missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her two daughters, Carmen (Tim) Hawkins and Cherish (Nick) Rose; nine grandchildren, Jorden (Kalyn) Borts, Colten (Shy) Borts, Camden (Jazmine) Borts, Jayden Borts, Chaylee Borts, Madison Hawkins, Alexa Hawkins, Jaxon Rose and Aria Rose; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Gordon (Cindy) Warrick and a sister-in-law, Linda Neuman as well as many other friends and family members. Preceding Her in death were her parents, and a brother, Dennis Warrick.
