Glen Whitehead Dies at Hospital; Rites Thursday
Glen A. Whitehead, 64, Reasnor, lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Monday evening at Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Ray Barnett, minister of the First Christian Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Ira.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The casket will be closed at the time of the service and will not be reopened.
Surviving are a son, Donald Dean Whitehead, Washington, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Oliver (Jeanette) Osborn, Alburnett; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) DeReus of Mingo and Mrs Ben (Mae) Bentley of Spooner, Wis., and a brother, Virgil.
He was preceded in death by his wife March 24, 1946, a granddaughter and two brothers, Wilbur and Floyd.
Mr. Whitehead was a member of the Christian Church.
A former employe of the Maytag Co. he was a farmer.
The son of George and Stella Tramel Whitehead, he was born Jan. 19, 1905 at Ira.
He was married to Ethel Beals Aug. 18, 1926, at Ira.
