Helen Holdefer, 99, passed away on January 23, 2022 at her home. She was born in Colfax, Iowa on October 22, 1922, the daughter of George and Gladys (Cordray) Lewis.
Helen is survived by her children; Howard Holdefer, Douglas (Barb) Holdefer, Georgia Pierce and Michael Holdefer; daughter-in-law, Nancy Holdefer; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Bob) Wilson; many nieces, nephews, loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Holdefer; son, Ronald Holdefer; daughter-in-law Marge Holdefer; son-in-law, Dwight Pierce and nine siblings.
A memorial visitation was held on Saturday January 29, 2022 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Ave., Mitchellville, Iowa. Cremation will follow her visitation with burial in the spring next to her husband. (Colfax Cemetery)
