SMITHSON, POTTER

I am looking for information regarding the Thomas SMITHSON (Sr) family. Thomas SMITHSON was born 1800 in New York. He was married to Lucinda (maiden name unknown) born in either TN or Virginia. They resided in Calamus, Clinton, Iowa according to the 1860 Fed. Census. With them resided their five children:

John SMITHSON b: 1848

Thomas SMITHSON b: 1850, he married Sarah POTTER, daughter of William A. and Elizabeth (SINKEY) POTTER.
George Smithson: b: Sept. 1853

Martha Smithson: b: June, 1856. She was married to Jeremiah POTTER, son of William A. and Elizabeth (SINKEY) POTTER on 02 Nov 1851.

Roland Smithson b: 1862.
I find in the 1870 Federal census that Thomas is now deceased and Lucinda is residing with four of her children: Thomas, George, Martha and Roland.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
