Still seeking obits and burial locations of MEARS ancestors

I am still seeking the obituaries and burial locations of Elijah and Caroline (Averill) Balcomb Mears.

Elijah Mears died on 02 Nov 1878 in Maquoketa, and Caroline Mears died at some undetermined date after that.

They were members of the Butternut Grove Branch of the RLDS Church, and may have been paupers at the time of their deaths.

The C of C Archives and the JC Genies found a few news articles about them, but none indicated when Caroline died or where she or Elijah were buried.

If anyone ever happens upon some old papers or burial records that mention them, I would appreciate learning of the information.
