Have you researched ALL of the siblings in the subsequent censuses--including Orville Webster's Find A Grave memorial/obituary (died 1906, buried at Scotch Grove in Jones County)? In 1880, "Leonard" is missing, but the child who is the same birth order and age as he would be is now enumerated as a female called "Roby". I suggest exploring whether the 1870 census enumerator got the name and gender wrong for this child.
