Patten family confusion

PATTEN, WILCOX, CARTER, KLINEFELTER

In my research I found Louis Patten b. 1870 abt. (Father is Charles or Charley Patten & mother Salina or Saline Carter) Married Cora Wilcox (father Cal Wilcox, mother Goodewin?) on Oct 5, 1896. In 1895 Census I find a Cora, Rosa Minnie & Hattie as daughters of Cal & Flora M. Wilcox. So that makes sense - shes living at home in 1895 and marries in 1896... But now. Did she get a divorce, die or perhaps the marriage never really took place.
In Dec. 29, 1902 A new Marriage Louis (Lewis) Patten b. 1870 or 1871 IA (father Charley Patten Mother Saline Carter marrys Lizzie E. Klinefelter b. 1873 IN abt. Her Father, Henry Klinefelter (Klinezelter) Mother - Christina Metcalf.
Now an obit for the Cal Wilcox with Daughter Cora married to someone else?
Not sure which is correct marriages.. As I am also trying to find out which family Lewis Patten Belong to. Such confusion!
